Crane Man Basket
Lakeshore Industrial manufactures and sells premium man baskets built to withstand the rigors of any industrial, construction, mining or heavy civil job. Lakeshore Industrial man baskets are load tested at 200% of their rated capacity prior to leaving our facility and built from high strength 2″ square tube steel. Our baskets also include harness anchor points and grab rails to comply with ASME B30.23 regulations and OSHA 29 CFR 1926.1431.

Crane suspended man baskets must comply with OSHA 29 CFR 1926.1431 and ASME B30.23. Some key regulations include being built to a design factor of 5 to 1, proof testing to 125% of the baskets rated capacity, and safety harness tie off points for each person in the basket with a minimum capacity of approximately 3,600 lbs.
No, OSHA does not require recertification of man baskets unless repairs were made. You are only required to perform inspections prior to every lift and periodically for when a basket has been out of service.
A bridle assembly must be rated for 5 times the total weight lifted at an angle of no less than 45 degrees. Canada requires a 5 part bridle which is a bridle with an extra safety line to attach above the ball of the crane.
